Samsung Malaysia Electronics has just announced the release of its new Galaxy Tab A8, a budget-friendly yet capable tablet.
The Basics
The Galaxy Tab A8 has a 10.5in screen and weighs 506g.
Its 10.2mm promises an easier grip, smaller overall size, and a larger screen to body ratio – compared to previous tablets in the series.
Combined with the quad-speaker with Dolby Atmos, Galaxy Tab A8 becomes a handy device for watching shows and playing games.
It’s also available in Grey and new Pink Gold.
The Specs
When it comes to performance, Samsung says that the Galaxy Tab A8’s CPU and GPU are 10% better than the Galaxy Tab A7.
It also comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that is expandable – using a microSD card – to up to 1TB.
The battery in the Galaxy Tab A8 is rated at 7,040mAh battery which should mean hours of streaming.
Parental Controls
The Galaxy Tab A8 has both interactive educational content and parental controls.
Parents can see how much the device is being used and what it’s used for all in one place. They can even set screen time goals and track progress throughout the week.
Kids can also enjoy a fun, personalised tablet experience, thanks to Samsung’s partnerships with global content partners and the ability to customise the home screen with playful icons and colour schemes.
Cameras
With Galaxy Tab A8’s 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and brand-new Screen Recorder feature, users can record videos of tutorials or lectures.
This feature also allows users to record themselves making annotations, as they highlight key points or write on the screen, to match what they say with what is shown on the screen which can be useful as both a teaching and note-taking tool.
Availability
The Galaxy Tab A8 (Wi-Fi 3+32GB) is now available for RM999.
