During CES 2024, AMD unveiled several CPU models across two generations of sockets, along with a new graphics card.

The first introduction is the Ryzen 8000G series of APU, which comprises Zen4-based CPUs with integrated graphics. While AMD CPUs currently incorporate integrated graphics, the APU models stand out due to their significantly enhanced graphics capabilities, facilitating gaming without the need for a dedicated graphics card.

The 8000G series encompasses four models with varying core counts, ranging from the 4-core 8300G to the 8-core 8700G.

All processors boast a default TDP of 65W and are packaged with integrated RDNA3 graphics, either Radeon 780M (12CU), Radeon 760M (8CU) or Radeon 740M (4CU).

AMD claims these APUs are capable of delivering a good 1080p gaming experience, even in demanding games.

Also, the 8000G series marks AMD’s debut in integrating an XDNA1 Ryzen AI Accelerator NPU.

AMD AM4 New CPUs

Furthermore, AMD is supporting its existing AM4 platform by introducing four new CPU models.

The first among these is the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, a downclocked version of the popular 5800X3D featuring 100MB of 3D V-Cache.

Additionally, the Ryzen 7 5700, previously exclusive to system integrators, is now available for the DIY market. The 5700 is essentially the (now discontinued) 5700G minus the integrated graphics.

AMD also launched the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500GT. The 5600GT is essentially an upgraded version of the (now discontinued) 5600G with higher CPU clocks, while the 5500GT closely resembles the 5600G with only minor differences.

In the graphics card domain, AMD introduced the Radeon RX 7600 XT, featuring higher base and boost clocks and, notably, double the memory at 16GB.

The memory size is not the only thing getting an increase. There’s an increase in power consumption, from 165W to 190W and the GPU ships with a DisplayPort 2.1 connector.
