MDX 2023 Kicks Off: Dive Into The Future Of Tech With Malaysia Digital Expo

The six-week-long event is expected to attract over 150,000 participants from around the world to showcase and discuss the latest tech innovations.

The Malaysia Digital Expo (MDX) 2023 was launched today by the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil, officiated the launch ceremony. The theme for MDX 2023 is “Let’s do business. Invest in Malaysia,” and it serves as a nationwide celebration of Malaysia’s digital economy, featuring the latest innovations and technologies from both local and global companies.

Its primary goal is to demonstrate Malaysia’s readiness for growth, elevate the digital ecosystem, and create opportunities for businesses within the ASEAN region and beyond. The event is scheduled to conclude on 8 November 2023.

MDX 2023 boasts an impressive lineup of speakers and industry leaders, including Ricky Kapur (Head of APEC at Zoom), Melvin Ooi (CEO of YTL-Sea Digital Bank), Eric Chang (Co-founder & Group CEO of Carsome), Dr. Raymond Choy (Co-Founder & CEO of DOC2US), and Hiroyuki Kato (Director of Japan Peppol Authority, Government of Japan).

Over the course of six weeks, the event will feature various activities, including conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and networking sessions, leading up to the prestigious MDX Grand Finale and an exclusive industry awards dinner.

The event is expected to draw more than 150,000 participants from across the globe, including investors, entrepreneurs, technology start-ups, trade associations, policy makers, and digital professionals.

MDX 2023 is complemented by a range of auxiliary events, including the Malaysia Digital Content Festival (MYDCF) 2023, Malaysia-Japan Digital Exchange, World Congress IT on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) 2023, Malaysia Cloud and Datacenter Convention 2023, #mydigitalmaker Fair 2023 Finale, Smart Melaka International Conference and Expo (SMIX) 2023, UK Malaysia Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conference 2023, and the 7th Selangor International Business Summit 2023.

MDEC leads MDX 2023 as a crucial initiative under Malaysia Digital (MD), aiming to position Malaysia as a leading digital nation in the ASEAN region.

It serves as a platform for local and international companies to collaborate and explore new opportunities in the digital economy, with the ultimate goal of showcasing Malaysia’s digital assets and attracting high-value digital investments to drive the growth of the digital economy.
