Samsung Rolls Out One UI 5.1.1 Update For Older Galaxy Devices And One UI 5 For Smartwatches

Samsung announced today that they are rolling out One UI 5.1.1 update for tablets and foldables and One UI 5 for smartwatches.

These updates are aimed at providing a more seamless and enhanced device experience to users of various Samsung devices. The devices set to receive this update include:

Foldables

  • Galaxy Z Fold4 (starting this month)
  • Galaxy Z Flip4 (starting this month)
  • Galaxy Z Fold3
  • Galaxy Z Flip3
  • Galaxy Z Fold2
  • Galaxy Z Flip

Tablets:

  • Galaxy Tab S8
  • Galaxy Tab S8+
  • Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S7
  • Galaxy Tab S7+
  • Galaxy Tab S7 FE
  • Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
  • Galaxy Tab A8
  • Galaxy Tab A7 Lite
  • Galaxy Tab Active3
  • Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro

Watches:

  • Galaxy Watch5
  • Galaxy Watch5 Pro
  • Galaxy Watch4
  • Galaxy Watch4 Classic

The newly launched Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are set to impart several features to the older foldables, including the customisable toolbar for the Flex Mode panel.

Older foldables will also gain access to the Multi Window mode, enabling users to simultaneously open and use two apps without interrupting media playback.

The Hidden pop-up feature, which is being introduced to Z Fold4, Z Flip5, and Tab S8 devices, allow users to open apps, adjust their layout, switch between them, or assign them to split-screen multitasking. Additionally, users have the option to hide these apps when no longer needed.

The transition from pop-up view to multi window mode can be accomplished effortlessly by users, merely by holding down the handle of the pop-up window.

Galaxy foldables and tablets are also receiving the Two-handed drag and drop feature, facilitating the swift selection of multiple files for dragging over to other apps on the taskbar, for purposes such as editing or sending.

For Galaxy Watches, the Watch5 and Watch4 lines will now incorporate sleep insights, offering comprehensive sleep reports that encompass sleep stage metrics, culminating in a combined sleep score.

Users of older Galaxy Watches are also being granted additional watch face options and a camera controller feature, which operates as a remote shutter for compatible Galaxy phones.
