Malaysia’s first university faculty of artificial intelligence (AI) is set to debut on 10 May, according to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Zambry revealed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is anticipated to preside over the symbolic launch at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, according to FMT.
The establishment of the faculty, based at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in collaboration with other universities, aims to achieve top-tier quality by enlisting experts from various institutions, ensuring its success, as stated during a university-entrance fair.
Earlier announcements by Zambry confirmed the approval of an AI bachelor’s degree program in January, with the inaugural intake scheduled for October.
The AI curriculum has been meticulously crafted to meet industrial demands, incorporating insights from field experts and aligning with the national artificial intelligence roadmap.
