When we were looking for the perfect Muslim reference app during Ramadan we had a few criteria.

First, it must not be a subscription, we have enough of those in our lives and we do not need another one.

Second, all the information and references in the app, especially the salat times, must be accurate.

Third, it must not be packed with ads. Some of these Muslim centric apps can have inappropriate ads because they use a third party service.

Fourth, it must be simple to use. Super apps are a messy clutter. The reference app that we are looking for can have a lot of features but it must be user friendly and clean in design.

The only app that we found that met all these criteria (so far) is the premium iman Pro: Solah, Azan & Qibla and its free counterpart iman: Solah, Azan & Qibla.

We love how straightforward and cleanly designed these apps are. First and foremost it’s an accurate reference for salat times taken from trusted sources.

Within its simple menus are additional useful supplementary features such as salat reminders and alarms for Imsak, Shuruq, Duha, and Qiam.

There’s also a qibla compass, a Quran, a guide to zikr (remembrance), a directory for Halal eateries, a directory of masjids and so much more.

As a bonus, the app is 100% Malaysian made.

iman Pro: Solah, Azan & Qibla will cost you a one-time payment of RM16.90 and it is worth the price. We bought the app just to support the developer, Adiman.

Both iman and iman Pro are only available for the iPhone. The premium version also works with the Apple Watch. The ability to have reminders right on your wrist is an unbeatable feature.
