The original Volkswagen Microbus, the ones known as Type 2, (T1) and (T2), was first made in 1949 and is still iconic to this day. But from the third generation onwards, this symbol of freedom and love has sort of lost its charm.
However there is hope! Recently Volkswagen uploaded a teaser video of the VW ID Buzz, the electric-powered spiritual successor to the VW Microbus. Along with this is an announcement that it’s coming in 2022 — as expected.

Fans of the VW Microbus Type 2 have been waiting for a revival of the series with the same DNA since forever and the German carmaker has been teasing us with the ID Buzz since 2017.
Although there is no word if it’s coming to Malaysia, we hope that it does because the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
In October the Government announced in Budget 2022 that it plans to provide full exemption from import and excise duties as well as sales tax for Electric Vehicles (EV) to support the development of the local EV industry.
