Digi Telecommunication Sdn Bhd (Digi), will postpone their 3G network shutdown due to the floods.
The shutdown will now be done on 3 Jan 2022 for Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis, while Selangor and Federal Territories shutdowns will be on 6 Jan 2022.
The shutdown in Sarawak will be done as scheduled on 30 Dec 2021.

According to the company, states like Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan have already moved on to 4G network.
The shutdown is in part of the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) initiative to repurpose the 3G spectrum for 4G LTE network enhancement, allowing better connection for Malaysians.
Maintaining availability of network services
Digi says that their priority is to keep Malaysians connected during this tough time. Currently, their 24-hour Response Teams are working to restore their network in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Kelantan.
As more heavy rainfall is expected in the coming weeks, Digi have prepared a flood preparedness kit which can be downloaded here.
The kit includes guidelines on what to do before a flood, how to keep safe during and what to do after the water subsides.
