OnePlus introduced its second-generation watch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The OnePlus Watch 2 brings several improvements over its predecessor, launched in 2021.

Powering the latest smartwatch is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 SoC and the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset. OnePlus specifies that the Snapdragon chipset handles demanding tasks, such as managing Google apps, while the Efficiency chipset manages background activities and simpler tasks.

Running on Google’s Wear OS 4, the watch offers a single configuration with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The smartwatch sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 600 nits.

The Watch 2 houses a 500mAh battery, promising up to 100 hours of battery life in ‘smart mode’ and up to 48 hours in ‘heavy use.’ OnePlus claims that the Watch 2 can achieve a full charge in 60 minutes using a 7.5W VOOC fast charger.

Featuring a 2.5D sapphire crystal cover, the watch’s chassis is constructed from US military standard MIL-STD-810H stainless steel. The smartwatch is also equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance, weighing approximately 49g without the strap and around 80g with the strap.

Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus Watch 2 is available in Black Steel and Radiant Steel colours, and it retails for USD299 (~RM1,428) and it’s available for pre-order in the US, UK, Europe, and India.

There’s a possibility that OnePlus won’t be releasing the smartwatch in Malaysia, as Oppo is selling the Watch X here, which is essentially the same watch but with Oppo branding.
