Samsung plans to reveal its first health tracking ring during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Galaxy Ring will make its public debut after a preview last month at the Galaxy S24 smartphone series launch in California.

Bloomberg reports that the ring offers personalised and seamless experiences enabled by advancements in artificial intelligence, according to a statement from Samsung.

At the Mobile World Congress, attendees will have the opportunity to explore new health features on the Galaxy Watch6 series, which is paired with the Galaxy S24, ahead of its public release later this year, as stated by Samsung. The official launch of the Galaxy Ring is anticipated in 2024.

Smartphones and watches are already emphasising health tracking as a significant selling point, with companies like Samsung, Apple, and Google leveraging these features to attract and retain customers.

Developing sensors for continuous monitoring of blood pressure and glucose levels represents valuable advancements.

Apple has been diligently working on a non-invasive glucose reader for years, aiming to eliminate the need for users to prick their skin for blood, which could be a significant benefit for millions of diabetics.
