Lenovo Legion Go

The Legion Go was leaked last month, and now at IFA 2023, Lenovo has finally showcased its first handheld gaming PC, seeking to challenge Steam Deck and the Asus ROG Ally.

The Lenovo Legion GO features an 8.8-inch QHD+ 16:10 touchscreen boasting a 144Hz refresh rate, with a peak brightness of 500 nits. The display supports resolutions from 1,600p to 800p as well.

It is powered by up to an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor (similar to Asus ROG Ally), coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It also offers storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe storage and microSD card support with up to 2TB.

Its battery is a two-cell 49.2WHr unit and comes with a 65W power adapter that supports Super Rapid Charge, allowing the battery to recharge up to 70% in just half an hour.

When gaming while plugged in, the Legion Go includes a power bypass mode that protects the battery from extra degradation while also eliminating heat normally produced while charging.

The Legion Go has detachable controllers and they use Hall effect joysticks, which mean no joystick drift and minimal dead zones. The right controller can be transformed into a mouse with the included accessory.

The right detached controller is placed into an included controller base that attaches via magnet, and the optical eye at the bottom of the controller allows for more precise aiming and control necessary during competitive FPS games, akin to using a mouse.

The price tag for the Lenovo Legion Go is set at EUR799 (approx. RM4,012), and it’s scheduled to be released in November. As of now, specific details regarding local availability and pricing have not been disclosed.
