In March this year, WhatsApp introduced a new native app for Windows desktop users, and now the company is finally bringing the same experience to Mac users.
The new native app for Mac allow users to join video calls with up to eight people and audio calls with up to 32 people.
According to Meta’s blog post, the native app “is redesigned to be familiar to Mac users, helping you get more done faster when using WhatsApp on a large screen. You can now share files by easily dragging and dropping into a chat, and can view more of your chat history.”
Meta also added that like on any device, WhatsApp for Mac ensures the privacy of your personal messages and calls across devices through end-to-end encryption.
Users can download the app directly from WhatsApp’s website. The company has announced that the macOS client will soon be downloadable on the Apple App Store.
