Telekom Malaysia (TM) will be conducting 5G trials in partnership with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
They mentioned in a statement that UniFi Mobile Postpaid customers with compatible devices will be able to try out the 5G network if they are in select Klang Valley areas.
This comes after The Straits Times reported that TM is the first telco to sign with DNB, which is a far cry from the Reuters’ report which claims no telco has signed the deal yet.

While TM did not say when exactly they are starting the trials but they did say it will happen in selected areas within Cyberjaya, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
The said areas are also the areas that DNB is planning to push the service to by the end of the year.
TM will be conducting 5G trials with DNB to optimise the services. During this pilot trial, unifi mobile postpaid customers with certified 5G devices will be able to experience 5G services in selected areas within Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.
TM’s UniFi Mobile postpaid customers in these cities are likely to get early access to 5G network in the coming days or weeks. The company has also mentioned that customers with 5G certified devices will get access to the trial run.
