ASUS says the ROG Phone is an insanely powerful phone that is all about maximum performance, RGB and advanced mobile gaming experience.
The two main differences with the new 5s Series from the 5 is the new Samsung display and the Snapdragon 888 Plus chip.
New High Refresh Rate Screen
The new Samsung E4 AMOLED display comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms latency, with 360Hz touch sampling for that fast-paced mobile gaming.
The display is tuned with a specific focus on getting the best colour and gaming performance. For this, ASUS collaborated with visual-processing company Pixelworks.
The brightness of the 5s has increased to 510 nits maximum and can be boosted up to 840 nits in Auto Mode or Bright Sun mode.
ASUS don’t want you to worry about gamer rage when you are using the phone because the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
What About The Snapdragon 888 Plus?
The new chipset is no different than the old one except for the clock speed. The new Snapdragon 888 Plus has a clock speed of 3GHz surpassing the old one at 2.86GHz.
The absolutely powerful SoC (System on a Chip) is paired with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Performance is what ASUS is going for with the ROG Phone 5s and that is exactly what ASUS says you will get.
Cooling. You’re Going To Need It
The Snapdragon 888 Plus is a power hungry SoC and to keep max performance, ASUS deployed their the GameCool 5 cooling system to keep the phone cool.
Putting the CPU in the middle of the phone and splitting the huge 6,000mAh battery in two will hopefully keep the thermal efficiency of the phone at a max.
To make things even better in terms of cooling, the vapour chamber in the phone has been reshaped with extensive graphite sheets that also help spread the heat evenly across the phone.
You could also add the AeroActive Cooler 5 to actively cool the phone.

ASUS’ ultrasonic-based AirTrigger 5 shoulder button and the in-display fingerprint recognition is intended to help gamers get the best shots and none of the ghost touches from sweaty hands.
The ROG Phone 5s features dual front-facing speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack for long gaming hours and Android 11 UI support.
The 6,000mAh batter supports 65W HyperCharge fast charging via USB-C, just like the original, the Pro variant will get a customisable PMOLED display at the back and additional rear touchpads.
Oh before I forget, the ROG Phone 5s series has a triple camera set up;

Exclusive Theme Packs
ASUS has teamed up with popular game titles like Call of Duty Mobile, creating a series of theme packs for gamers to show off and be unique.
The phone also supports an animated lockscreen, Always-On Display, calling (animated video), ROG Vision, and sound effects.
