We know Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy S24 series soon, but when? Previously, there was a report that said that the launch is happening on 17 January 2024. But now we have confirmation of the launch date thanks to a leaker.
According to Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks, he posted a GIF on X (formerly Twitter) of what seems to be an official countdown to the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event.
The GIF shows that event will take place on 18 January 2024 3am KST (2am MYT). It is worth noting that the date and time indicated in the leaked GIF translate to 17 January launch date in the U.S. Samsung is anticipated to conduct an in-person event in San Jose, California, on that particular date.
The GIF also mentioned “Galaxy AI is coming,” signifying that one of the key selling points of the Galaxy S24 series would be the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to power a variety of features.
Besides that, evleaks also leaked an official-looking specifications of Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The post on X was also taken down.
Judging from that specs sheet, we can see that the S24 Ultra is using titanium and has “Quad Telephoto,” while the S24+ got a display upgrade and is now capable of QHD resolution (up from FHD+).
We are reaching the end of December, and it’s only a matter of time before Samsung makes an official announcement regarding the next Galaxy Unpacked event, so just sit tight and wait.
