Measat Global Bhd does not feel threatened by the presence of Starlink as they see it as a complement to the existing ecosystem that will benefit the people of this country.
Berita Harian quoted their Chief Operating Officer Yau Chyong Lim who said they don’t have any problems with collaborating with any service provider including Starlink in the broadband ecosystem in the country.
I think we can work together in that aspect. And from Measat’s perspective, we have already created an ecosystem. We know the local distribution network very well, we know the installation places and we have our own installers. So I think together with other service providers, including Starlink, I think we will bring the best technology to the country to ensure that the benefits are enjoyed by Malaysians.

He also added that Measat just launched their satellite last year, the Measat 3D, which has a satellite bandwidth capacity of 30 Gbps, which allows them to provide internet broadband speeds of up to 100 Mbps for the entire country.
Starlink made its debut in Malaysia after it was given the green light by the Communications and Digital Ministry last month as part of the government’s initiative to provide 100% internet coverage to Malaysians.
