There are times where you might find yourself unsure about what to listen to on YouTube Music. To help you in such situations, YouTube is introducing a new feature designed to aid your exploration of new songs.

The newly introduced feature, called “Samples”, operates similarly to a TikTok-like vertically scrolling stream, presenting music samples.

This feature is trying to elevate personalised music discovery, enhancing the process of finding songs that resonate with you.

Even with the vast array of music available at your fingertips through services like this, it’s still incredibly hard to find new songs that might be of your interest. This is where Samples steps in.

Fuelled by “the world’s largest catalogue of music videos,” as touted by YouTube, the seamless feed of short-form video segments guarantees a dynamic exploration of the extensive YouTube Music library, ensuring a constant stream of new listening experiences.

YouTube says each immersive clip offers insight into the artist, the video, and the essence of the song. A simple vertical swipe takes you to the next clip, and the progression continues.

Upon discovering a favourite, users can add it to their collection, sharing it with friends, creating playlists, generating radio stations based on it, viewing the full video, accessing the album page, and even using the song to create your own YouTube Short.

The Samples tab is now rolling out globally to users of YouTube Music app, so you should be able to use this feature soon.
