TikTok is undeniably the reigning champion of short-form video content, but it is now exploring the realm of short-form text posts.
A couple of days ago, TikTok announced that they are allowing users to create text-based content that broadens options for creators to share their ideas and express their creativity. Users will be able to “share their stories, poems, recipes, and other written content” on TikTok.
The process of using the new feature appears straightforward. By navigating to the Camera page within the TikTok app and selecting “text,” users can easily type out their desired content. They have the option to enhance the text posts by adding sounds, tagging locations, enabling comments, and integrating with Duets.
The company emphasises that these text posts will be just as interactive and dynamic as video and photo posts. To further customize the text posts, users can include background colours, hashtags, and a wide array of stickers.
Similar to video and photo posts, users have the flexibility to save their text posts as drafts for future editing or discard them entirely if needed.
If you have been using Instagram Stories, this new feature should be very familiar to you.
