We have around six months to go before the usual release date of Apple’s next iPhone in September, but the leaks have already started pouring out about the iPhone 15 series.
According to MacRumors, the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a unified volume button and a mute button as opposed to the ones found on the previous iPhones.
It is anticipated that the iPhone 15 Pro models will replace the separate volume up and volume down buttons with an elongated button that can be used to adjust the volume. Additionally, the current mute switch is expected to be replaced by a mute button that can be pressed to toggle the silent mode.
The volume and mute buttons are rumoured to have a solid-state design that utilises haptic feedback from two Taptic Engines within the iPhone to simulate the sensation of physical movement.
However, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are expected to retain the traditional design with two physical volume buttons and a mute switch, as shown in other CAD images in the video.
Other than that, the alleged front glass panels of the iPhone 15 series was also leaked by a tech reviewer, Sonny Dickson.
The iPhone 15 series are also expected to ditched the Lightning USB port for USB-C thanks to a European Union’s law that requires most electronic devices to use USB-C starting autumn 2024.
