Starcraft 2 was launched in July 2010 for Windows and Mac OS. The game received two expansions, the last of which came in November 2015. Ever since then, Blizzard has been quiet about the series in favour of Overwatch and Diablo. But, after almost 13 years, the hugely popular Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game could be finally getting a sequel.
According to Insider Gaming, a Windows Central journalist, Jez Corden, stated that Blizzard is currently working on Starcraft 3 (SC3).
Corden responded to a fan’s Twitter question regarding Microsoft potentially reviving StarCraft after the completion of its purchase of Activision Blizzard. He asserted that there would be no need for Microsoft to revive the franchise.
Additionally, when another user inquired about SC3 and if Corden had any information about it, he simply answered with a single word, confirming its existence: “Yep.”
Now, we have to take this news with a huge pinch of salt because Corden didn’t provide any other information about SC3. But with the release of Diablo 4, we guess Blizzard finally has time to focus on its popular RTS title.
