Drones possess high value and versatility as practical tools with applications across industries. They enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety by eliminating the need for human intervention in hazardous or labour-intensive tasks. The utilisation of drones has revolutionised industries, providing innovative solutions, boosting productivity, and creating new possibilities for growth and development.

The Star reports that Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has urged agriculture and tourism industries in the region to incorporate the use of drones into their daily operations. He emphasised that integrating drones would enable businesses to align with technological advancements and experience growth.

Hajiji highlighted the wide-ranging applications of drone technology, which could promptly address various challenges, including the shortage of manpower in agriculture. But he stressed that in order for this to work, there is a need for collaboration between the government, industry players, researchers, and the community to harness the benefits of drone technology for the progress and prosperity of Sabah.

Hajiji further stressed the importance of preparing the workforce for the digital era through skill improvement initiatives. He noted that drones have become an integral part of modern technology, rapidly finding applications in diverse industries such as agriculture, infrastructure, services, delivery, and environmental monitoring.

Additionally, Hajiji highlighted the potential of drones in preserving ecosystems, protecting nature heritage reserves crucial for tourism, and ensuring environmental conservation. He stated that it is important to follow the safety rules and regulations when it comes to drone usage.

However, he also stressed the importance of establishing regulations that do not impede the potential applications of drones in the economic sector. The government aims to support and foster the development and growth of the drone industry, indicating their commitment to facilitating its progress.
