Adham Baba: Malaysia Needs More Robots By 2030

More robotics is required to help Malaysia fulfill its needs.

According to the Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba, there are already 55 robots for every 10,000 persons in Malaysia and by 2030, his ministry wants to expand that ratio to 195 robots for every 10,000 people.

The National Science Council has approved the Robotic Talent Development Academy with collaboration with various government agencies, including the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and the Education Ministry.

He added that in addition to analysing current needs, they are also developing talent through the academy to ensure they can increase the target ratio by the year 2030. He concluded by saying that they are taking the target seriously and redoubling their efforts to increase participation in the robotics industry, including the drone sector.
