RedMagic is a gaming division of Nubia, a Chinese smartphone company headquartered in Shenzhen. This gaming phone was announced and released in July 2022 in other regions, but Malaysia is finally getting it.

The RedMagic 7S Pro is powered by the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile CPU, the 8+ Gen 1, with support up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage (non-expandable).

The display is a 10-bit 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 960Hz touch sampling rate, protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

To make sure you can enjoy a prolonged gaming session, there’s a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery with support for 65W fast charging (a 65W GaN charger is included).

It has the usual triple-camera setup of modern smartphones with a 64MP main camera, 8MP Ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. The 16MP selfie camera is a standout feature, because it is hidden under the display, so you get to enjoy a true full screen experience without a pinhole on the screen.

Also, to keep the phone cool under gaming load, it has an ICE 10.0 Multi-Dimensional Cooling System and on the back, the Supernova and Mercury colour has a transparent back panel where you can see a mini fan that can spin at 20,000rpm and a customisable RGB lighting effects.

This is a gaming phone, so we must talk about the pressure-sensitive triggers on the side of the phone’s aluminium frame. The triggers are not mechanical, they don’t pop up and it has 520Hz touch-sensing.

There’s a special software called RedMagic Studio where you can screencast the phone to your PC via WiFi or USB-C and you can use a mouse and keyboard to play your favourite games. Of course, you can use it for more than just gaming as well.

Besides that, there’s a switch on the side dubbed the Game Space Switch where you can toggle the special game modes on or off.

In addition to that, the phone has a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers, dual SIM slot, USB-C 3.0, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.
