Huawei Malaysia sees immense potential in its 5.5G technology for Malaysia’s industries, offering faster speeds, more connections, and lower latency. This advancement promises significant improvements in operational efficiency and sustainability, particularly in manufacturing.

CEO Simon Sun emphasises the technology’s industrial focus, highlighting its ability to enhance processes with AI-powered cameras, reducing manual labour and boosting productivity, according to Bernama.

Sun said “The 5.5G technology, compared with 5G, is 10 times faster, supports 10 times more connections and has lower latency.”

Additionally, he envisions applications in vehicle navigation, leveraging millimetre-wave radar for real-time object detection in adverse weather conditions.

A recent collaboration with Maxis Bhd aims to accelerate 5.5G adoption, focusing on tangible commercial outcomes rather than just theoretical advancements.

This partnership aims to drive adoption through practical use cases, technology evolution, and ecosystem development.

Huawei Malaysia also commits to its green energy strategy, focusing on solar inverters, data centres, and components for the electric vehicle industry.
