The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living has announced that the government will launch the central database hub (PADU) on 2 January on X (or Twitter).

The Ministry also encouraged Malaysians to register for PADU to ensure that they’re not left out of subsidies, assistance and social protection.

One of the importance of registering for PADU is to ensure that people who are eligible for benefits are not left out of receiving targeted subsidies, assistance and social protection through the PADU system.

KPDN says PADU helps policymaking with data-driven decision-making processes and enables targeted policy implementation.

KPDN says PADU will be helpful for Both the government and Malaysians

According to KPDN, the central database hub (PADU) contains profiles of individuals and households covering citizens and permanent residents in Malaysia.

This profile information will be obtained through the integration of administrative data from various sources.

KPDN says the objective of the database is to improve the efficiency of the government service delivery system, optimising limited resources, empowering the social system and bridging the socioeconomic gap by balancing the needs of the people.

Registrations are open for Malaysians aged 18 and above and they’ll have to update and verify their documents.
