The government is implementing an open payment system that allows the public to make payments using MyDebit and credit cards as additional payment modes at gantries, and QR codes through the KTMB mobile app (KITS) โ apart from the existing payment methods using tokens and Touch โn Go cards.
The open payment system also covers Kelana Jaya LRT Line, Ampang LRT Line, Kajang MRT Line, Putrajaya MRT Line, and Monorail.
It seems KTM Komuter is the first train line to support debit card payments at the Automatic Control Gate (ACG), providing more convenience and alternatives for users when using the KTM Komuter services.
Currently, this new payment system can be utilised at all KTM Komuter stations in the Klang Valley and Northern regions. Only local bank cards can be used at the automatic control gate terminals.
KTM also emphasises that a temporary holding amount of RM30 will be implemented, and the balance will be refunded within one to three days.
If the temporary holding amount cannot be obtained, KTM Komuter will blacklist the passenger’s debit card, and the payment must be made in cash at the destination counter.
