Maybank has announced to all its users that starting on 31 October 2023, all initial Secure2u activations and activations on new devices must be conducted through Maybank ATMs.

This change will also affect current users intending to switch to a new phone after 31 October 2023.

Maybank stated that this serves as an additional security precaution in alignment with the Bank Negara Malaysia most recent security standards.

Secure2u is a faster and more secure method for authorising your Maybank2u and MAE transactions.

It employs Secure Verification for one-tap approval and generates a 6-digit TAC number on your app through Secure TAC. This functionality is accessible within the MAE app.

Users who are affected should download the MAE app and proceed to enrols in Secure2u. Following that, they should visit their nearest Maybank ATM, insert their ATM card, and enter their PIN.

Then, they can select “Secure2u Activation” from the main menu > “Activate Secure2u” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Upon activation, users should wait for a minimum of 12 hours before using Secure2u for transaction verification. Once you have activated Secure2u, it will be the default method to approve all transactions.
