The government is urging local businesses to take the lead in developing enterprise 5G solutions to enhance the country’s digital ecosystem and boost the national economy.
Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil emphasised the importance of a collaborative effort involving corporations, the public sector, technology enablers, and connectivity providers to accelerate 5G adoption, according to Bernama.
He highlighted the significance of internet connectivity, digital accessibility, and 5G technology in driving economic development.
The GSMA Intelligence identified key components for a digital nation, which include infrastructure, innovation, people, data governance, and security. These components must be developed together to avoid delays and gaps in digital initiatives.
CelcomDigi has already collaborated with large enterprises to roll out 5G solutions, demonstrating how 5G can transform various sectors by increasing efficiency and productivity.
The recent CelcomDigi MY5G Conference drew significant interest from Malaysian businesses, showcasing 5G’s potential across various industries.
The government is also supportive of funding enterprise digitalisation, with initiatives like the RM100 million digitalisation grant under Budget 2024 to benefit SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and micro-entrepreneurs.
