Last week, Telekom Malaysia (TM) reduced Unifi broadband plans pricing. Now, it seems that Maxis is contemplating a price reduction of its own, based on a website owned by one of its authorised resellers.
If the information on the website proves accurate, Maxis will lower the monthly fees for all its plans, closely aligning with Unifi’s recent price cuts, according to a news report by The Star.
Unlike Unifi, Maxis doesn’t provide 1Gbps or 2Gbps plans to the general consumers; instead, they offer an 800Mbps plan, which has no equivalent in Unifi’s offerings.
The website displays the monthly fees for Maxis Home Fibre’s plans as follows:
100Mbps plan at RM99 (originally RM129), and the 300Mbps plan at RM139 (originally RM149).
The 500Mbps plan at RM159 (originally RM219), and the 800Mbps plan at RM249 (originally RM299).
Furthermore, it indicates that the 100Mbps to 500Mbps plans are eligible for an additional RM10 monthly rebate on subscription fees for the first 24 months.
Notably, all the previously mentioned broadband plans, except the 800Mbps plan, are priced identically to equivalent offerings from TM’s Unifi.
A quick check on the Maxis website still shows the old pricing, and Maxis has not made any official announcement regarding this.
