[UPDATE] Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the increase in PlayStation Plus subscription prices in Malaysia, below is the list:

  • PlayStation Plus Essential – RM235
  • PlayStation Plus Extra – RM400
  • PlayStation Plus Premium – RM460

If you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus, we have some bad news for you because Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) recently announced an increase in yearly subscription fees for all three tiers starting 6 September.

For PlayStation Plus Essential, the prices have increased from USD60 to USD80, while the Extra plan sees an increase from USD100 to USD135 and the Premium tier—highest of the three—will increase from USD120 to USD160, based on reports from The Verge.

Below is the new price list according to region:

PlayStation Plus Essential 12-Month Subscription
79.99 USD | 71,99 Euro | 59.99 GBP | 6,800 Yen

PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription
134.99 USD | 125,99 Euro | 99.99 GBP | 11,700 Yen

PlayStation Plus Premium 12-Month Subscription
159.99 USD | 151,99 Euro | 119.99 GBP | 13,900 Yen

SIE says that this price increase will not take effect for current 12-month subscribers until their next renewal date that occurs on or after 6 November.

They also mentioned that the new prices for the 12-Month subscription will remain at a discounted rate when compared to purchasing the 1-Month or 3-Month subscriptions over a 12-month period.

However, any membership changes you make on or after September 6, such as upgrades, downgrades or buying additional time, will update your plan reflecting the new prices.
