If you are watching YouTube videos on your PC regularly, you might have noticed and wondered what this new 1080p premium option is. Well, we are here to tell you what it’s.

The newly introduced 1080p Premium option is a version with a higher bitrate, which is designed to make visuals appear sharper, especially for videos that have a lot of detail and movement.

Previously, it was only available for iOS users, but The Verge reported that YouTube says it’s now available to all YouTube Premium subscribers globally. Just take note that not all videos will have this 1080p Premium option.

What about the free users, you asked? The regular 1080p option is not going anywhere and it’s still there. Besides that, YouTube also added that they are rolling this feature to other devices like Chromecasts and video game consoles.

Unfortunately, Android users will have to wait a bit longer, but Google has apparently started testing this feature on Android devices already.
