Currently, the fastest currently available internet speed for consumers is 1Gbps by TIME. To put this into perspective, you can download a 50GB game in just under 8 minutes. Apparently, for some reason, TIME thought that Malaysians might want faster speeds, so they are planning to introduce a new internet plan with a breakneck internet speed.

The company has been teasing something on its Facebook page since 1 October 2022. They said something is coming on 7 October, which is tomorrow. But thanks to Amanz, the cat is out of the bag.

Amanz reported that they saw a TIME advertisement in front of KLCC, advertising their new 2Gbps internet package.

The advertisement didn’t reveal the package price and as you can see, TIME is also changing their brand identity and logo.

Right now, the TIME 1Gbps internet package costs RM199 per month, while the 100Mbps package costs RM99 per month. We speculate the price will be closer to RM300 per month for the 2Gbps speed.

For average consumers, 100Mbps is more than enough, unless you are downloading and uploading huge file sizes all the time or you are living in a household where everyone is streaming 4K movies everyday.

So now that we know what TIME is teasing tomorrow, the only thing left is the price. We will update this article once we find out more information about this new internet package tomorrow.

[UPDATE] We just published this article a few moments ago, but TIME is releasing the information right now. Lowyat.net reported that the price of the new 2Gbps package will cost RM379 (way more pricier than we thought) and customers can sign up for it starting tomorrow.

Customers will be given one 2Gbps WiFi 6 router, and two WiFi 6 mesh nodes as part of the package.

Also, customers who signed up for the plan through TIME’s website would also receive Touch ‘n Go eWallet credits worth RM200. In addition, the company said that, it could be possible to carry out same-day installation if they signed up before 10:00am, but this depends on the locations.
