The e-Tunai Belia Rahmah is an initiative introduced by the government during the Belanjawan 2023. The government allocated RM400 million for this initiative and it was created to help students and youths to alleviate the burden and cope with the increasing cost of living on campus.

Astro Awani reports that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced that starting from Monday, 26 June 2023 at 8am, young individuals aged 18 to 20 or full-time students enrolled in higher education institutions (IPT) can begin the registration process to receive a RM200 credit for the e-Tunia Belia Rahmah program.

According to the MoF’s statement today, the registration and claiming period for e-Tunai Belia Rahmah program will be in effect from 26 June until 22 August 2023.

To register, eligible youths can choose one of the three e-wallet service providers, namely Boost, Setel, or Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

The MoF highlighted that the credit received through the program, along with equivalent benefits provided by the participating eWallet providers, can be spent offline until 31 August 2023.

This program is open to Malaysian youths aged 18 to 20 in 2023, which includes individuals born between 2003 and 2005, as well as those who are actively pursuing full-time studies at IPT institutions within the country.

In addition to the RM200 assistance in the form of e-cash credit from the government, the participating e-wallet service providers will offer supplementary incentives such as vouchers, cashback, or reward point discounts throughout the program’s duration.

The MoF emphasised that the RM200 credit can also be used at retailers or merchants accepting payments through the DuitNow QR code, provided that one of the eWallets associated with this program is utilised. This usage is subject to permissible transactions.
