Xiaomi Is Not Going To Release Xiaomi 13S Series This Year

Previously, the company released Xiaomi 12S Series in July 2022 as a follow-up the to 12 Series and it featured updated chipsets and slight camera improvements in the same body as their predecessors. But the 12S Series were only available in China.

The company is planning to launch Xiaomi 13 Series in Malaysia next week, but if you are planning to skip this and wait for the S-Series, you don’t have to wait anymore, because it’s not going to happen.

According to GSMArena, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun posted on Weibo and said that the company currently is not planning to produce Xiaomi 13S Series and ask the consumers not to wait for it.

Besides that, the company is planning to release Xiaomi 13 Ultra this year. Last year, they released the 12S Ultra, but it’s only available in China. There’s no 13S Ultra, but they didn’t say they won’t release 13 Ultra and based on the leaks from Weibo, it’s coming soon.

The camera system will reportedly contain a 50-megapixel, 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary camera. All four cameras, according to rumour, will feature PDAF autofocus. A Direct Time-of-Flight (DToF) sensor is also likely to be included.

One thing for certain, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will definitely be coming to other countries and maybe even Malaysia.
