Last week, we reported that Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TnG) is preparing to launch its own prepaid Visa card. TnG has already created a FAQ page for the Visa Card, but other than that, the company didn’t say anything when they will be launching the card or any other additional details. Today, we finally have more information to share.

It seems TnG has quietly rolled out the application for the prepaid Visa card, but it’s only available to certain users. If you are lucky, you might see this when you open the app.

When I opened my app, which was updated to the latest version, this option was not available for me. So, this could mean the company is slowly rolling out this Visa card application to all users.

There will be a RM10 application fee, but at the moment, you only have to pay RM5. There’s also an annual fee of RM18 and this fee is waived. Perhaps there’s an ongoing promotion for early applicants.

Once you have applied for the card, the Visa card will be delivered to you within 10 working days.

This prepaid Visa card is linked to the user’s TnG eWallet account balance, and can be used for payments at a number of terminals that accept Visa card payments. In addition, users can also withdraw money through ATMs that support this Visa card, in addition to using this card for online purchases.

However, you cannot use this Visa card as a TnG card because it’s not possible to have both functions in one card.

It’s only a matter of time before TnG makes an official announcement regarding this, so stay tuned to this site for more updates.
