Insider Gaming reports that the PS5 7.00 update, allegedly set to release on 8 March 2023, will feature complete Discord integration, as announced by Jim Ryan, the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment back in May 2021.
In addition to Discord integration, the 7.00 update will also include the ability to stream PS5 games via cloud streaming. According to Insider Gaming sources, this feature will be part of the PlayStation Plus Premium Tier, and it has been in development and testing for several months under the project name “Cronus”.
We guess the cloud streaming could be useful if you are really tight on storage space and you don’t have a budget to upgrade.
According to Insider Gaming, the public beta for the major update will begin in the near future and end on January 30th. However, it is reported that beta testers will not have access to the Discord integration feature during this beta period.
PS4 and PS5 owners have been asking Sony to integrate Discord into the consoles for a long time. If this news is true, the fans must be delighted. Unfortunately, the news didn’t mention of Discord coming to PS4 as well.
