Yesterday, Realme officially announces the availability of their latest budget smartphone, the Realme C55 in Malaysia.
The Realme C55 is packing MediaTek Helio G88 SoC with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB storage, which is expandable by up to 1TB via microSD. The body is constructed out of plastic.
The phone has a 6.72-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 680 nits. To keep the C55 up and running, there’s a big 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging. Realme claims the phone can go from 0 to 50% in 29 minutes and to 100% in 63 minutes.
On the back, the phone sports two huge circles and inside, there’s a 64MP primary camera and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 8MP selfie camera.
The highlight of the C55 is the “Mini Capsule” feature. It looks similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, but nowhere near as useful. Realme implementation can only show the battery charging status, data usage, and step count.
Besides that, the C55 has a USB-C 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.2, and Dirac’s audio tuning. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and it’s running Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 out of the box.
The Realme C55 comes in two colours: Rainy Night and Sunshower.
