ASUS Debuts Five New Laptops In Malaysia; Price Starts From RM3,099

The Zenbook Duo is the most interesting one out of the five laptops launched today.

Today at the ASUS Malaysia Transcend Beyond event held in KL, the company announced the release of two Zenbooks, one Vivobook, and two ROG gaming laptops.

ASUS Vivobook 16 (A1605)

This laptop features a 16-inch IPS LCD screen with WUXGA resolution (1920 X 1200 pixels), a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 300 nits. It’s equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor 120U along with Intel Graphics as the main support.

It also includes 16GB of RAM, a 512GB internal storage M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD, and a 42Wh battery that supports 45W charging.

Other specifications include an HD camera, built-in speakers with SonicMaster audio, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2. In addition to the I/O options, it comes with 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x HDMI 1.4, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The new ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED will be offered in Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, and Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. The laptop also comes with Intel Arc integrated GPU.

The Zenbook 14 OLED 2024 has a 14-inch 3K (2,800 x 1,800) OLED display, along with the 16:10 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits peak brightness. The laptop is available in two colours: Foggy Silver and Ponder Blue. The laptop weighs just 1.2kg and has a thinness of 14.9mm.

Additionally, the laptop can be configured with up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage and 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM running at 7,467 MT/s. Asus has equipped all variants with 75Wh batteries that support 65W USB Type-C port charging.

According to ASUS, the combination of a 75Wh battery and Intel Meteor Lake processors is expected to provide a battery life of up to 15 hours. All models share the same I/O features, including two Thunderbolt 4 connections, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.1, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

The Zenbook Duo is equipped with two 14-inch OLED panels with a 3K resolution (2880 × 1800) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Its display, known as Lumina OLED, is certified by Dolby Vision and Pantone for more professional content, and it also offers a 16:10 aspect ratio along with stylus input capability.

For processing power, it features up to the Intel Core Ultra i9 185H with integrated Intel Arc graphics for enhanced performance. It also offers options for LPDDR5 32GB RAM and storage up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Additionally, it comes with a 75Wh battery that supports 65W charging, an FHD webcam, and speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Users will find a variety of I/O options and connections, including 2 x Thunderbolt 4 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x HDMI® 2.1 (TMDS), 1 x audio jack, WiFi 6E (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.3.

ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024)

The gaming laptop is powered by a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 185H Processor, paired with an Nvidia GeForce GPU that goes up to RTX 4080, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB of NVMe SSD.

It sports a 16-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1600, WQXGA) OLED (base model has IPS panel), 16:10 aspect ratio, with 240Hz refresh rate, G-Sync support, Pantone and Dolby Vision certified.

The laptop is powered by a huge 90Wh and for I/O, it has a 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack, one HDMI 2.1 FRL, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C support DisplayPort / power delivery, one Thunderbolt 4 support DisplayPort / power delivery, and one card reader (SD) (UHS-II, 312MB/s). For wireless connectivity, it support WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3

TUF Gaming F16 (2024)

This entry level gaming laptop is packing a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13650HX with 14 cores and 20 threads, as well as up to 32GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM, with support up to 2TB NVMe SSD storage. The GPU inside can be equipped with up to a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.

For display, the laptop sports a 16-inch, IPS panel with 16:10 aspect ratio (1920 x 1200, WUXGA), 165Hz refresh rate, and thin bezels that make for a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

The TUF Gaming F16 also features USB-C PD charging, alongside a 90Wh battery. For connectivity, it supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2

For I/O ports, it has a 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack, a HDMI 2.1 FRL, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C support DisplayPort / power delivery / G-SYNC, one RJ45 LAN port, an one Thunderbolt 4 support DisplayPort.

Pricing and Availability

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is available starting 29 January 2024 and it retails for RM3,099.

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED is available starting today with pricing starts from RM4,499.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo will be available starting 19 February 2024 and it’s priced at RM9,999.

The ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) will be on the shelves towards the end of January 2024. This laptop has a starting price of RM9,999.

The TUF Gaming F16 (2024) is set to hit the market on 24 January 2024, with a starting price of RM5,999.
