Malaysians are encouraged to make use of the recently launched ‘AI Untuk Rakyat’ program, aimed at enriching their understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli emphasised that acquiring a foundational knowledge of AI technology would unlock numerous opportunities in Malaysia’s transition towards a digitally-focused economy, according to NST.
During the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim introduced the program, highlighting its significance in narrowing the digital literacy gap within the population. Rafizi stated that the initiative aims to cultivate a technologically adept society, aligning with the goal of establishing a digitally-driven economy by 2030.
The program, comprising two modules, ‘AI Aware’ and ‘AI Appreciate,’ is open to all Malaysians at no cost and is available in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and Tamil.
Rafizi stated its accessibility and flexibility, allowing participants to complete the program at their own pace within four hours. The online portal for the program can be accessed at www.ai.gov.my.
Rafizi underscored the government’s ambitious target of engaging one million participants within the next three years. To promote the program, various channels will be utilised, including social media, government departments, and agencies such as Rakan Muda, digital economy centres (PEDi), and the National Science Centre.
Furthermore, the government encourages private sector involvement in line with the ‘whole-nation approach’ outlined in the Madani framework to ensure the program’s success.
