A famous game studio under Sony, Insomniac Games, known for hit titles for PlayStation consoles such as Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank, was hit by a ransomware attack recently.
Cyber Daily reports that the group responsible for the attack, Rhysida, issued Sony a one-week ultimatum to comply with their demands before commencing the release of hacked contents.
A significant portion of the leaked information has now surfaced on the internet, providing a glimpse into Insomniac Games’ upcoming plans.
It appears that Insomniac is currently in the process of developing several single-player titles for the PS5 based on Marvel intellectual properties, along with two entirely new original creations (IP).
According to a Reddit post, the roadmap reveals plans for Marvel’s Wolverine to be launched in 2025, followed by Spider-Man 3 in 2027, and Marvel’s X-Men game anticipated for a 2029 release.
Concerning Insomniac’s original titles, the roadmap outlines two new IPs slated for 2031 and 2035. There is also a possibility of an X-Men 3 release in 2033 between these two titles.
Interestingly, an alternative leaked roadmap presents a distinct lineup of games and release dates.
In this version, Marvel’s Venom takes the spotlight as the 2025 title, pushing Wolverine’s release to 2026.
Furthermore, Spider-Man 3 is delayed by a year to 2028, and a new Ratchet & Clank game is mentioned for 2029, along with Marvel’s X-Men slated for 2030. The two new IPs initially scheduled for 2031 and 2032 are now set for later releases.
Some of these titles might even end up releasing on PS6, judging by their tentative release year.
