Pos Malaysia Bhd aims to replace its fleet of two and four-wheeled vehicles with electric vehicles by 2030.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia Charles Brewer was quoted by Berita Harian saying that they’re doing this to reduce carbon footprint, improve environmental sustainability and save on operating costs.

Pos Malaysia currently has a fleet of around 6,000 two-wheeled vehicles and around 3,000 four-wheeled vehicles.

Charles said they have a large fleet and if immediate measures are not taken, it has the potential to have a negative impact on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

He mentioned that the transition towards the use of electric vehicles will be implemented in phases and by the end of this year, Pos Malaysia will have 200 EV motorcycles (e-bikes) and 146 four-wheeled EV vehicles (e-vans).

From an operating cost standpoint, Charles said it is 40% to 50% cheaper than using fossil fuel vehicles.

As Malaysia’s post and courier supplier, Pos Malaysia is proud to be among those making a difference in accelerating the net zero future.

YGT To Handle Pos Malaysia’s EV Maintenance

Meanwhile, YGT’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Srinivas Tati, said through the leasing of the electric vehicles, YGT will supply the CAM EC35 e-vans which is integrated with smart EV telematics software.

He added that YGT will also equip Pos Malaysia depots nationwide with fleet charging solutions and oversee technical support and maintenance services for the fleet and leased EV chargers—a comprehensive EV leasing solution that Srinivas says is the first of its kind in Malaysia.

YGT is passionate about helping commercial and industrial customers achieve their net zero ambitions. This partnership with Pos Malaysia began with the launch of charging stations and now we are supporting the rapid electrification of their four-wheeler fleet. We hope this will pave the way for more corporate companies to realize their decarbonisation commitments.
