Nicolas Shi, the Country Manager for Xiaomi in Malaysia and Singapore, highlighted that Xiaomi’s primary focus is to provide products that align with customer needs and preferences at affordable price points.

To maintain their position as a leading tech brand, they employ a dual-brand strategy with Xiaomi and Redmi.

While Xiaomi focuses on disrupting the market with premium flagship smartphones, Redmi offers high-performance devices with impressive features at budget-friendly prices.

Shi expressed delight about Xiaomi’s strong presence among smartphone vendors in Malaysia for Q2 2023.

Despite industry challenges, he thanked customers for the opportunity and expressed the brand’s commitment to offering the latest technology variations to Malaysian users in the future.

This year, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 12 series and the Xiaomi 13 series, both of which have achieved remarkable success, the company claims.

The Redmi Note 12 series appeals to individuals seeking mid-range smartphones, while the Xiaomi 13 series targets those interested in premium flagship devices.

While Xiaomi might be leading in Malaysia, on the global scale, the company is at the third position when it comes to worldwide smartphone vendor market share. The first place belongs to Samsung and Apple took the second spot.
