WhatsApp just announced that it is introducing a new way for users to communicate with each other.

This new feature is called “Video Messages” and users can record and share short personal videos directly in the chat. Video messages allow you to promptly respond to chats by expressing and demonstrating whatever you wish to convey within a 60-second real-time format.

Here’s how to send a video message. All you need to do is tap the Mic icon to switch to video mode and hold to start recording a video. Additionally, you have the option to swipe up to lock the recording, enabling a hands-free experience.

When opened in a chat, the videos will play automatically but remain muted. If you want to hear the sound, simply tap on the video. Rest assured, WhatsApp stated that video messages are safeguarded with end-to-end encryption to ensure the security of your messages.

WhatsApp said the rollout of this new feature has already started and will gradually become available to all users in the upcoming weeks.
