Have you ever been in a situation where you were unable to login to WhatsApp Web because there was something wrong with your camera? Well, with this new feature, you don’t have to worry about your phone’s camera acting up.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has a new feature called “Link with Phone Number” that allows users to access WhatsApp Web without scanning a QR code.

This screenshot reveals a new option for linking a new device, which allows users to establish a connection using their primary account phone number and a one-time code generated by WhatsApp Web. To connect a device to your WhatsApp account, open WhatsApp Web on the desired desktop device and choose the recently introduced “Link with phone number” option. Once you input your phone number and country, you will receive a notification containing an 8-character code that must be entered into WhatsApp to complete the linking process.

The “link with phone number” feature can be very useful in certain scenarios. For example, when users encounter difficulties accessing WhatsApp Web due to a malfunctioning camera that prevents them from scanning the QR code. However, this new feature enables seamless connectivity to WhatsApp Web, irrespective of camera issues.

It’s important to note that currently, this feature exclusively supports WhatsApp Web and does not facilitate linking a WhatsApp account to a secondary mobile device using only the phone number.

This new feature is currently accessible to select beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store. WABetaInfo said over the next few days, this feature will be gradually rolled out to more users.
