Asus officially announced their ROG Ally handheld gaming PC on April’s Fool day and they have already revealed the price for other countries. Now, after more than two months since its announcement, the company is ready to tell us what is the official price of the ROG Ally in Malaysia.

Instead of straight up telling us how much the handheld gaming PC is going to cost, Asus has decided to make us do some basic calculations in order to figure out the price. So, lets find out the answer together.

According to Asus Facebook’s post, the company said the asterisked laptop in the first equation is ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM. We found out that the laptop is priced at RM12,999, but we don’t know what is the unspecified ROG Strix laptop and how much it is.

What we can do is, we take RM31,998 – RM12,999 and we found out that the unspecified ROG Strix laptop costs RM18,999.

Lets move on to the next equation. We found out that first laptop is ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 2023 which is priced at RM22,999. So, if we take RM22,999 – RM18,999, we get RM4,000.

To the final equation we go! We take RM22,999 – RM19,700 and the official ROG Ally price is RM3,299!

For comparison, the official USD price for the ROG Ally with Z1 Extreme processor is USD699. So, when we convert it to Ringgit, we get approximately RM3,233 (at the time of writing). As you can we see, the Malaysian unit is only slightly more expensive.

To recap, the Asus ROG Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. It has a 7-inch IPS, 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and 7ms response time. It weighs 608g, comes with a 40WHrs battery that support USB-C charging.

The ROG Ally also features a number of gaming-specific features, such as haptic feedback, trigger buttons, and an AI noise-cancelling microphone. The handheld gaming PC comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home edition with Asus Armoury Crate SE software designed to optimise and take full advantage of the Z1 Extreme chip.

Asus Malaysia will be launching the ROG Ally officially on 19 June 2023. If you want to watch the livestream, you can do so HERE.
