If you are driving an electric vehicle (EV) to balik kampung during this Hari Raya season, TNB has good news for you.
According to TNB’s Facebook post, to encourage the transition and the use of EVs, they are allowing all EV drivers to charge their cars for free at TNB Electron charging stations.
This free EV charging period starts from 19 until 21 April 2023 and 24 April 2023. During this period, drivers don’t have to pay anything at all, but usually, it will cost up to RM2.35 per minute depending on the charging output (kW).
Right now, there are three TNB Electron charging stations:
- Ayer Keroh (Northbound)
- Tapah (Northbound)
- Paka (Northbound)
But TNB is building six more at these locations:
- Machap R&R (Southbound)
- Rawang R&R (Northbound)
- Gunung Semanggol R&R (Southbound)
- Gurun R&R (Northbound)
- Gurun R&R (Southbound)
- Paka R&R (Southbound)
To activate the chargers, you can use the Go To-U app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store. The app allows you to activate the chargers when you arrive or reserve them ahead of time for up to seven days.
