Previously, we reported that Apple is allegedly working on a touchscreen MacBook Pro (MBP) slated for 2025. The MBP that Apple could be announcing tomorrow is not that. Instead, it’s going to be a revision of the 2021 MBP with new chips and possibly using newer WiFi standards.

MacRumors reports that Apple is making an announcement tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 January US Time) by publishing a press release on its website, according to a leaker known as Jon Prosser.

MacRumors also said that they confirmed there’s an announcement from Apple this week. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg also said the same thing.

A new 14-inch and 16-inch MBP packing a new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are rumoured to be part of the announcement. The MBPs are expected to retain the same design, but they could be using the newer WiFi 6E standard, making them the first Macs to use it.

An updated Mac mini could also be announced tomorrow, running a M2 chip but also retaining the same design as the previous generation.
