Just a couple of days ago, we reported that Apple could be working on a 15-inch MacBook Air and that they are planning to release it this year, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Today, the same journalist has another story regarding the MacBook Pro.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is working on a touchscreen MacBook Pro and if this is true, this would be the first MacBook to have touchscreen functionality. Gurman also alleged that the MacBook Pro could come as early as 2025.
The current 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro use Mini LED displays, but the report says that new the MacBook Pro will be using OLED instead. Gurman added that Apple engineers are actively working on it and there are no final plans to release it, but the plans could change.
He also said the new MacBook Pro would maintain the form factor of existing models. Until now, the closest thing to a touchscreen on a MacBook has been the Touch Bar, which Apple introduced in 2016, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro may be the last one to have it.
Windows laptops frequently use touchscreens, but Apple was far slower to adopt the technology. Only time (and more reports) will tell if this rumoured MacBook Pro will be released.
