[Update] Debit card, M2U MY app, and Maybank 2u web banking services are back to normal.

Maybank online banking services and debit cards, including its MAE app, M2U MY app and Maybank2u web are currently down.

At the moment of this writing, Maybank users nationwide are having issues paying using their debit cards. They are also unable to access their fund and alternative payment such as using QR codes via the MAE app, M2U MY app.

At 10:18 am today, Maybank tweeted an alert notifying its customers that there are intermittent issues with the MAE app, M2U MY app and Maybank2u web service.

Approximately two hours later, at noon Maybank tweeted that its customers will not be able to use their debit cards as well.

At 1:26 pm Maybank added that its FPX (Financial Process Exchange) payment platform was also down.

NST reported that issues with Maybank’s services started at 9am.

A spokesperson told them that customers can be assured that their account balances and details remain intact and secure with Maybank.

The report added that this is the third major outage that Maybank has experienced on their debit card services and online platforms. The last time it happened was last week.

We have yet to see similar alerts from other banks. However, we can confirm that RHB bank users are also experiencing issues at the moment.

The bank did put out a notice that it was going on scheduled maintenance on 24 April.

We have also confirmed that CIMB clicks, and its online banking services are still working.

It has put up on its announcements page that instant transfers to Maybank are unavailable from 11:05 am until further notice.

It recommends that its users use Interbank GIRO (IBG) to transfer money to Maybank accounts instead.

[Update] Maybank tweeted that it’s FPX (Financial Process Exchange) payment platform and MAE app are still unavailable.
