Malaysia is finally getting a purple Samsung Galaxy S22 with the upcoming release of the Bora Purple variant of the smartphone.

Back when the S22 was launched in Malaysia in March, it only came in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Green, and Pink Gold. Unlike selected countries, we did not get the Violet variant of the device.

Now Samsung announced that the Bora Purple variant of the S22 will be available in Malaysia starting on 10 August.

The word Bora is a Korean feminine given name (for example Yoon Bo-ra). It also means the colour purple.

For the past few years, every Samsung Galaxy series has had a purple variant. There was an Orchid Grey S8, Lilac Purple S9, Violet S22,  and Lavender Z Flip 3. The colour is fast becoming Galaxy’s signature style.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 was released with a starting price tag of RM 3,499 for the 8GB memory with 128GB storage.

Samsung did not say if the colourway is limited to a certain variant of the S22 device or if it’s available for the S22+ as well.
